Is this new or undocumented or something? It just looks like a nice feature of Twitter's API, but not specially noteworthy. Care to elaborate?

Not related to the content, but this is the most annoying website design I've seen in months.

I know, and, if I had the money, I'd do the charity donation. But the parent comment asked about paying in general a large sum to talk to Tim Cook in the context of being an entrepreneur. I understood the charity aspect of it wasn't to be

Very much, no. I would never pay $15k so talk to anyone . Having people you look up to is something. This would be senseless idolatry.

Maybe it's because English is not my first language then. Still, you could have thought of IMAP-Powered condoms, that would have been funnier.

About labels, I believe they are sort of in the IMAP spec as keywords or something like that, so if Gmail is being nice, they should work. About conversations, I read that Gmail does some client-side sorcery with In-Reply-To headers for tha

I really hope people are not that close-minded, seriously... By the way, from the wiki: It's a cool name. What does it mean and how should I pronounce that word? It's a Czech word which means "triple". The meaning is an inside joke related

Wait what? Have you been to any IRC channel in the last ten years? IRC is a well-supported, still widely used, open standard for real-time communication. It can work just as fine on the browser with any of the hundreds of browser-based IRC

Does this mean you need to be a registered Apple Developer (with the ID and all the jazz..)? I can't get to the site to check, it keeps timing out.

I am not familiar with Textadept. How does this compare with (g)vim or Sublime? It looks rather nice.

Oh well, the whole hack/hacking/hacker terminology has been absolute and totally corrupted to oblivion already anyway. I mean, this site is called Hacker News and we come here to read about where to sit in a conference room.

There is a point where it is reasonable, there is a point where it is not. Look, a complete X graphical environment with one bash line! $ startx

My point is that the title is not really useful. Something along the lines of 'Using the Scapy library for wireless packet inspection' would be more reasonable. All this 'whatever with N lines' articles when you are using a 200MB tool stack

The point here is that we used to buy Apple (and pay their price) just because they weren't like the rest of the industry. That doesn't hold anymore.

Come on, if you really think that a drop of coffee will usually kill any electronics you must have never even handled a circuit board... Most laptops (including mi MBP!) will survive light spillage without problems.

Version numbers are not numbers . How would you explain, for example, Chrome's version 24.0.1312.57? Dots separate logical numberings, like version, patch, bugfix, etc. So 3.0 goes after 2.0 And 2.0.2 after 2.0.1. And 1.10 after 1.9 .
