Also, unrelated, but: hell I hate those round portraits. What is this, everyone suddenly forgot how to square? Goddamn kids and their trends this days...

Weird, I'm on almost the exact same version (24.0.1312.57) and it does nothing when typing any number of '['. I have the branded version of Chrome, though, but still, weird!

Well, that looks really nice. I am not a IDE type, but I do enjoy nice coding helpers when I write. This, well integrated into say, Vim, would make Javascript programming really comfortable.

It'd be nice to have the API also for platforms like Windows Phone/Windows 8 and a pure javascript implementation. Still, this is quite good.

There isn't really a way around it other than implementing authentication in a remote server. In that scenario, the app doesn't authenticate directly with the service, but with a private server. This way you can, for example, authenticate y

Not related to the content of the article, but hell I hate that design on qz.com. Moving erratic headers, the sidebar post list thing that scrolls painfully slow, can't mousewheel-scroll the article if the pointer is not inside that 'box',

As I understand it, the whole "SEO mandates one h1 per site" is outdated. Search engines (read, Google) now follow HTML5 specs and, if you are doing your semantic tagging right, multiple h1 aren't a concern anymore.

In my opinion, the recommendation of not going above #222 is not because it's illegible per se (that would depend on font weight indeed), but because you have to take into account external uncertainties like poorly calibrated displays, am

I assume the only overhead will be how much they weight in your DOM (this is inevitable anyway) and whatever time it takes to clone the element. So probably it will be actually faster than compiling server-side and XHR-ing on-demand because

Well, I don't agree with what seems to be the common definition of 'hacker' here. For me, hacking is the art (or vice) of making things do what they are not supposed (or allowed) to do. Plainly that. Someone that builds a kick-ass revolutio

Two sites, one a simple CV/Bio thingie written in Python running on Google's App Engine. The other a blog written in Node + Express on a shitty $5/month VPS. On Apache for statics, btw.

Maybe it's just that the lines are massive because of the large font size, so you are moving your eyes way too much for just 10 words.

Innovation like this gets naturally shaped and filtered within society so it becomes acceptable for the most. Just as (and as the author mentions) you are supposed to turn off your cellphones in certain situations, and just as it's rude to

Personally, I don't really like that text is so big compared to the body width. I'd say you are getting a word-per-line average of 10 or so, way too low in my opinion.

Interesting to see actual use of sets on Python. For those like me not familiar with the syntax there, the OR-ing (|=) is just Union minus Intersection (because all elements of a Set are unique). >>> {1,2,3} | {2,4,6}
