That's it, basically. You have to implement this things through an ugly decorator thing because you just can't touch the syntax too much, or we would have another Python3 situation.

It might be useful, but I find it will be overkill for most use cases where you can solve this with a simple if/else checking the type of the argument. At the end of the day this is just a weird syntactic sugar implemented through a standar

Just set it up to the on-load time in UTC. It's the BBC after all, put it in London time and say so somewhere in the footer.

Maybe it's just that in that case the silicon won't support it, we don't really know how the architecture is. It's also possible that it heats too much with both things. Who knows. Indeed it would be stupid not to offer something, just beca

I assume this is being posted because something similar has been found on Haswell, or whatever. Complaining about this is just not knowing what is going on. Developing a processor is a very complicated matter, and it's financially impossibl

Good then, they are catering to a specific demographic while it's clear it may mislead and be unclear to other. I still think it's not a good idea, and the fact that it's a likable idea doesn't fix that for me.

Of course the campaign has been popular online. It's all about demographics; the kind of people that find this online are those that will usually like it. Now think of a not-so-educated 60 year old tourist going to see a nice park on his va

Maybe, I don't know what is the target of this thing, but most definitely it wouldn't work on a general touristic place, for example. This is a work of art, at most. Not an example of real world usability.

This is a terrible idea. There is this whole thing called familiarity , and most people will interpret this signs negatively because they won't stop to read the small text. I hope this doesn't spread.

The whole locked phone thing is just a graphical and OS feature. If the OS is vulnerable to a remote injection it might just as easily bypass the locked state.

Not really, in fact I believe some methods even reboot the system into a recovery mode without any user interaction, so given a vulnerability, there are definitely ways of interacting with the phone without it being unlocked.

As people commented on Reddit, this is not significantly different from any jailbreak using a computer. This is USB we are talking about, and the malicious charger in this case is a full-featured Linux computer. So yes, they are installin

Not unfortunate! I am sure you will be able to get vanilla android on this phone, and it's good that the interface is open and you can use it on other phones.

Reading QRs is very straight-forward on Windows Phone (is integrated on the OS and it's a two-tap access from anywhere in the system). As most WP-centric blogs link to apps through QRs that link you straight to the in-phone store, I use it

Well, no. As during any week I eat from several different restaurants, grocery stores and supermarkets, with a large variety of products and cooking styles, it is largely more unlikely that I'm missing any important part of my nutrition.

There has been a lot of criticism around here about this Soylent thing, and it's understandable: it's dangerous to trust your health to some guys without any medical or nutritional background. But I am really happy to hear they are getting

I see. But I suppose that this kind of monitors are not made for gamers, anyway. Ultra-high resolution is good for sharp text/CAD/etc rendering. A game is just too fast-paced and textures aren't that high-resolution anyway.

Why is it so important? Is it for gaming, maybe? Because I am pretty sure it's impossible to notice that while working, because there is no flicker between frames anyway. And gaming on a 4K screen (at PC viewing distance) is pretty crazy.

Well, as far as I understand it, the interactions (joints) manifest themselves as a larger density of electrons. That's pretty trivial (heh) to detect, just measure electrostatic interaction with a needle, or do some deflection fun.

I assume the JS code generated here is using heavily the asm.js subset, so it can be run faster on asm.js-capable browsers. Therefore V8 is not the ideal platform for benchmarking this implementation. You could try with a nightly Firefox.

Fellow Lumia 800 user, also tired of the lack of very much needed updates. I feel your pain. I'm now waiting for the fall to come to see if any decent iOS or Android phones come along.
