Their firmware updates are just straight up not working for me on my work laptop. To be fair, I've had zero gripes with how this machine has worked so far (got it about a year ago), and it's probably still the best computer I'

Very cool! One small quibble: why is the /bright endpoint a GET? GET should never have side effects. :)

There's more than one big problem with WordPress, and namespacing is one of them. It's way too common, even in some of the most popular plugins, to just toss plugins into the global namespace and prefix them with $your_plugin_abbr

This is so awesome. I'm consistently amazed at how much kids can understand intuitively, even when they can't express their understanding in precise language. For example, my partner teaches lower elementary at a Montessori school

Yeah that's what it looks like on Android Firefox too. Algolia powers HN search and it's always worked fine for me.

The premise is that FB is the target of lots of recent scrutiny about how they've exposed your data and that of many, many other FB users, even turning a blind eye to companies collecting that data in violation of FB's own terms o

You don't see any journalistic value in a story about a government contractor cutting off access to its data, and then trying to compete with the company accessing it?

Yes. More generally, good programmers aren't crucial because they know how to code, they're crucial because they know how to construct good programs.
