Very high quality app, thank you! It's simple, looks nice, and does everything it needs to. I love that it automatically allows playing in the background and appears on the lock screen, etc. The only thing I noticed was there's an

I think a pre-owned Lenovo Thinkpad T14 would work well, especially with an AMD processor. Gen 1, 2, 3, and 4 are all pretty powerful and reasonably priced on the secondhand market and most should offer 32GB if not 64GB options.

I am all for clean syntax but I feel like JS has already reached a nice middle ground between expressiveness (especially w/ map/reduce/filter) and readability. I'd personally rather not have another syntax that everyone

It's interesting to see the differences in industry adoption. My company just recently made Copilot an official tool for use. We're in a safety-oriented industry that moves more slowly. I do use it, but mostly just to tighten up e

Nice, that's a reasonable use case. I've been working on centralizing my home lab config and this tool could help bring pf.conf in/out of a central JSON config. Mine already handles static DHCP leases, local hostnames, certif

I wanted to add that some zombie/necro posts are useful outside the context of HN. For example on retro computing boards it makes me so happy when someone bumps a 5 year old thread to share new details, benchmarks, etc. about some ca

This is hilarious, I love it. I've thought about rolling my own comment system for a blog and thought it'd be fun to have a local LLM decide if I should even see the comment to approve/deny or not. Could be fun to browse the

I personally feel differently about the Pihole. I run one and it blocks a lot of telemetry traffic from smart TVs, apps like Netflix, etc. that are not originating from a browser. I'm showing a 23.1% block rate today. But for my use ca

I've been sculpting a static site generator for myself in TypeScript. The focus is on accessible, clean, and semantic output. It's one of those endless projects but it's fun to work on.

One additional downside to professional licensing is that it can be time consuming and costly. For example, to bring a new physician on board to a practice they must be: * Licensed (allowed to practice in that state) * Credentialed (degrees

Yep. And sometimes a nearby independant contractor who advertises once or twice a week on Facebook or in the local newspaper is going to provide a better service experience than the one blasting TV commercials on the local channels.
