I wouldn't mind trying one of these TechWoven cases out for an older model if they were available. Looks like the main improvements are wider thread and a coating to improve water resist. Still, the texture looks interesting and maybe

Yeah, I've noticed too. A surprising amount of the web works fine with most scripts blocked, but if I open an article and it's a blank page, chances are I'm just clicking back.

I want to make a CPU generation beowulf cluster one day. I'm thinking a Pentium MMX box, a K6-3 box, a Pentium 2 or 3, maybe even a 486 if supported. Then have some compute job that runs across all of them. :D

I was just watching a cool video on "world gen modders" where the author demonstrated by tweaking just a few values in a custom JSON it was possible to create new kinds of landscapes. At least in their corner it seems like the JSO

Another example (mentioned by another commenter) is the Magsafe animation. Siri can be in the middle of responding to a request from my phone when I dock it to my Magsafe charger on my desk, and it obliterates the request like it never ha

This matches my experience as well. When I'm working on a codebase that I started and know well, it feels like magic to chat with an AI and watch patches appear on the screen to accept/deny. I only accept about 50% of the AI patch

The latest macOS updates have me pining for macOS Mojave. I really liked that release - first-class dark mode support that felt reasonably polished, it still had a "normal" Mac OS X style UI, 32-bit support if you wanted it, it wa

That is a cool idea for sure. It's fun to imagine where the original x86 platform ({80,2,3,4}86) would have gone if it hadn't been remade with the Pentium (superscaler).

Indeed! I have a 486 DX4-100 that is my favorite DOOM system. It has an S3 805 VLB card currently, fast enough. Do you have a favorite VLB card for the 486 or DOOM?

I believe the F00F bug was patched out pretty quickly in the Pentium's B2 stepping. Nevertheless, some OSs still have mitigations if they detect an affected CPU (e.g. OpenBSD).
