Thoughtworks used to provide some of what you are asking for. A friend worked there a couple of years ago. I'm not sure how things have changed since but I've only heard good things. Google India has a lot of the perks they have in the USA

You are a former professional athlete so I assume you would know better than me, an amateur with only a few months in the gym. However > A simple rule of thumb.... if you're not talking about periodization, you're working with the wrong

Read starting strength. Its a small, cheap book, and it goes into more detail on form than you will probably need. It has chapters on each of the major lifts and I used to read it on my phone (kindle app) before/during the workout at the gy

This is interesting. I sleep close to or less than six hours a day and I work out everyday (lifting heavy weights and running 5 Mi alternate days). I do get really deep sleep though. I would really prefer if I could sleep longer but my job

Does anyone have experience with openvz on http://www.cheapvps.co.uk ? They seem cheaper than linode and I have been looking to switch from linode after a year due to budget constraints, the service from linode was excellent though.

I have been reading Adam Drozdek's book : Data Structures and Algorithms in C++ and I like it, though I have had to read up on C++ which I do not know that well (the algorithms in the book are implemented in C++).

It appears to have an error on slide 23, where the flatMap should return 1, -1 at the beginning rather than 1, -2? I don't know enough Scala to say with certainty but that seems to be an error: Seq(1,2,3,4) flatMap { x => Seq(x, -x) }

The spear should have been pretty important for human history as one of the first (if not the first) ranged weapons.

Thank you. I have some of the books listed in there but I had a problem with serializing the process of studying them, I tried sort of doing everything in parallel such as studying probability and Tom Mitchel's book together; needless to sa

I have an area of interest which largely coincides with these, I believe, except I am looking to work in ML. I will look at this thread closely myself.

Exactly what I would like to know too. I have been trying for a while now with not much luck, although I have picked up a decent amount of ML via self study.

I would like to learn to write games for the desktop and then try to write one, one of the traditional desktop games using C++ and something like SFML. The game development field has always intrigued me.

I recently assigned myself a project to learn C++ too, mainly in the interest of learning an entirely different kind of language (I only know python very well) but also to scratch a long pending itch of writing a few simple games and doing

From that perspective Skiena's book is also good, as it offers war stories where you can see first hand some of the implementations of the algorithms mentioned.
