Because flare fittings are a concession to make install cheaper, not better. R410a and other similar refrigerants are very high pressure, and the fittings undergo significant thermal cycles. Flared copper tube is a bad design choice. IMO, g

I always like the inverse of this, which is that if you calculate that less than 68% is in the first standard deviation, you can guess that the data isn’t normally distributed. It’s really a heuristic on where to start with analysis, though

No, i mean, I don't expect anyone to allocate anything to my non-viable projects. I expect to allocate my own money to them like I always do, but, I'll be more able to achieve my goals. If things pan out, maybe these things could

I'll just add that I have so much more "non economically viable" work than I'll ever be able to do. I'd love machines that could write code for me to do tasks that I'll never be able to afford to invest in othe

I agree the effects are asymmetric. an important consideration behind all of this is that there is very little that government or power can do to extend the lives of humans, and very much they can do to shorten them. When we thing of "

I do not think the animal meat consumption is the reason? Animal origin, not animal meat vector. This isn't a debate about veganism and moralism.

I recently got quoted $17k for 2 zone mini split. I bought the tools, instructions, and watched youtube and spent $4500 total. At that savings, I don't need a warranty. I can just buy and install another system if it fails.
