I assume only if you're setting it up to work "offline" with the app. Issuing a key pair to the hardware and the app from their ecosystem's trusted authority does seem like a secure way to do it.

Yes, McDonald's still has the trademark on hamburgers. They have lost it for the "Chicken Big Mac" and in relation to opening/operating restaurants. I think the original disagreement was due to McDonald's blocking

Great to see innovation like this. Looks like it's a technology also used by the Norwegian postal service. The print at home stamp services made the fatal flaw of assuming you have a printer at home.
