Vote for a direct democracy then… amend the constitution, state constitution, etc. Many cities have votes on these things. The city I left didn’t fund stadiums, but wasted money on all sorts of other crap. You can always vote with your feet

Why not? It’s up to the people of a city how much they want to spend and on what. Sports happen to be very popular with a large group of people who aren’t interested in the rest of what a city spends on. You can have those people watching s

No actual person thinks this but it’s the take away when you compress it down to memes / read about it in media. America has no room for nuance, it’s either every police shooting is justified or every shooting isn’t justified. It’s pro

The data seems mostly cherry picked. Like say azure support, azure is mostly a windows shop thing. It’s like pointing out that the oracle driver for ruby hasn’t been updated in a while. Not many people run rails on oracle.

So? What’s the point. How is google trends relevant to anything? I can show you the same graph for C, it’s not like people stopped running Linux cuz it’s still written in C.

Exactly, we have lots of time to wait. Humanity survives pretty much no matter what we do. Most of the waiting scenarios involve a drastic decrease in farmland for the US/Europe and larger gains in Canada / Russia. The planet quit

There are many great and economically profitable ways to capture CO2, the only problem with them is they impoverish the wrong people. (More correctly they don’t make the right people even more rich) > It only makes sense to capture co2 i

Travel across anything not paved during spring break up is near impossible. I don’t think it’s break up, I think it’s resistance, they are getting stalled in the cities. Ukraine has paved highways moving tanks isn’t an issue, except that th

Yeah, that’s the crux of the issue. Windows mostly does installers to get around its problems with single binaries. Only OSX has a reasonably decent solution for copying apps between machines. On Linux the only reasonable solution is an ins
