As much debate as I've heard recently over what qualifies a person as an "engineer", one of the key features has always been a very strict adherence to a code of ethics. I'm starting to wonder if the title is even worth

Historically they've been very open about their tools, though, even open-sourcing a lot of them. Not to say this can't be the exception, just that it does seem a little out of character.

Presumably it's more secure as it shouldn't expose your credit card number to the point of sale. Given the number of major hacks in that area in recent years, that should really be the #1 touted feature of such "X Pay" s

It seems to me that the majority of those features are a result of Java being 20 years old. It's entirely possible Go could achieve or surpass those features by its 20th birthday.

While there's plenty of room to carry on the discussion of what should or does qualify as "engineering", I think that in this case it gets in the way of the primary discussion.

There's a world of difference between introspection and narcissism. Being self-absorbed is a vice, but being aware of your limits and how best to push them is a virtue.

I like Go. It's fun, it's fast, and it's introduced me to a lot of programming concepts I had never used before. The one thing that seems to be missing from these discussions is that Go fits in an unexpected niche. I come fro
