On PCs they chose the Silverlight platform, but what do PCs have to do with mobile devices. Silverlight isn't available on mobile devices, and choosing Flash for android deployment wouldn't help them much either. How many android devices

They are more than willing, it is what they require. That is what he is saying is the problem. Android has none 'built in', so in order to bring the app to a handset, the manufacturer of the handset has to provide it.

Netflix chose MSFT's Silverlight for handling PC streaming. Lack of silverlight on Linux is the problem.

I don't know if I agree with the authors position based on the examples he gives. I'm willing to bet the Google engineer who allegedly was offered the $3.5M in stock to stay was a very key engineer. Google doesn't offer everyone million

Which review found it as slick as Apple? The reviews were all over the place depending on, I think , how the reviewer feels about Apple. The Engadget review stuck out to me in particular because the text described scrolling and such as b

"I would love to see Apple solving the problem with typing using a remote(especially things like URLs)..." They already solved it; you aren't supposed to be typing URLs while laying on your couch watching TV.

I see by your last sentence where you're leaning so I'm probably wasting my time, but I'm replying anyway. :) I've never had my house robbed, but I still lock the doors and have an alarm system. No one on my street has been robbed, but I c

One person has the bullet, another the firing mechanism, etc. Seriously, why does someone need to have a bullet in their pocket to travel on an airplane? They don't, so when an agent sees one, it's suspicious. It doesn't belong and raise

What would that accomplish. The original statement was that skype uses vp8 and youtube used vp6 (which vp8 is heavily based off of). Skype doesn't use vp8, and looking at vp7 or vp8 source isn't going to tell me that vp6 infringes on any

Technically no one knows exactly why the white iphone hasn't been released. I've seen plenty of solid 'leaks' claiming button colors and camera problems, but no one really knows the real reason. It could be strategic for all anyone knows

Apple has said barely anything about A4. All the 'misleading' and 'deception' you mention comes from people speculating about what A4 is and isn't.

I'm not saying they will or they won't, but there is no point wasting resources assembling a patent pool against VP8 if it isn't even popular yet. When it becomes a threat, you can bet then the MPEG LA will assemble something, valid or not

No one said they weren't going to include gnome software. This whole new ui issue stems from differences in opinion in UI/UX and there was a lot wasted going back and forth with Gnome about them.

There are millions of java devs, probably millions on Macs. Do you really think there will be no more Java available on Macs in the future just because Apple said they won't be working on their own implementation anymore?
