I'm not sure what you're responding to. What is par for the course when using a centralized app store? I simply stated that if you must go through a third party to get your apps to the consumer, then that platform (or at least that part of

What's the rumor? That half the staff was fired or that Noah uses the particular M.O. that was presented? Can't you easily verify either of these for us?

I think the idea comes from observing Microsoft's own behavior: - They foist the Metro UI on you by starting your "desktop" OS directly to that new UI as if to say "not only is this new UI not going away, but we're going to force you to loo

Those kits still do work for the platform they were built for though. New platform, new kits. Same as any other company.

I've had Windows 7 running at peak performance for years in boot-camp, on my early '08 Macbook Pro. My understanding is that any general-purpose desktop OS is susceptible to slow-down over time unless you properly maintain it. In the case o

I have a problem with some of Google's web apps, where they don't let me middle-click a link to a separate document. I use the heck out of tabs and I can't stand when they mess with that ability. I CAN middle-click the following Google link

I wasn't planning on running Photoshop or Crysis. I don't even run them on my half-dozen other computers, but I do run hundreds of low-requirement programs. The "full OS" experience, to me, is not simply side-loading either. I want an OS th

The GitHub analogy doesn't seem to fit. I can continue to use git regardless of whether GitHub is up, down or sideways. I'm glad to hear that a downloadable version is on the horizon though! Thank You.

Please make this a downloadable app that I can run on my desktop, if it's not already (I can't tell yet). I will never "sign in" to use a dev tool and I'm certainly not alone.

Sorry, but many, many people actually loved and bought other smartphones before Apple. Apple stands on the shoulders of giants like Nokia, Palm and Blackberry (aka Crackberry).

The value judgement on Flash wasn't the point. The point is that I can do what I want to regardless of someone else's value judgement. And I'm far from alone. Over a half million people downloaded it from Google's app store and I'm sure tha

Incorrect. Microsoft invented XmlHttpRequest during the time that they had the dominant browser. They also brought Windows from 95 to NT, 2000 and 7, with plenty of innovation, during the time that they had the dominant operating system.

Firefox Beta + Flash 11 is working very well on my Nexus 7. Streaming video is excellent and the user interfaces are quite responsive. It's not as stable as the desktop version, but I don't see any problems with the quality of video.
