It cuts both ways. I am lucky enough to live in an area with an EXTENSIVE system of mixed-use trails for bikes and pedestrians. I worry that e-bikes, which are potentially much less pedestrian-friendly, will lead to a pushback against bikes

Yeah, I definitely don't see this as something that can be reasonably implemented into any standard hiring process. The closest approximation might be to work with someone on a contractor basis and then offer them a full time position,

Well, let me clarify. It's not something that employers should expect from employees. But it is a trait I notice in a lot of highly competent folk who are high achievers. They'll see something coming on the roadmap that they fee

I think it probably depends on what the domain is . If the position is highly technical in nature then I would agree. However, I do think that beyond a certain point the ability to become highly competent on the fly in a new domain is extr

A months-long hiring process can't compete with simply working alongside somebody for a day. It's a shame we haven't been able to scale up a solution that would allow for this and be fair to all involved.

I read this article the other day, and tried it out. It works, but it's definitely for the enthusiast. I think the stuff outlined in the OP accurately describe what needs to change for this to get to mass market. I DO think it looks li

I would argue that some of the larger minecraft servers are much closer to the metaverse than this. They often have 'hub' servers where you can teleport to different worlds with different rulesets. Creative servers for artistic ex

You are right, I did not understand that you were speaking about support staff and not those in nursing. Obviously nurses and doctors are not trivial to train and replace.

My understanding is that the data indicate that children do not transmit Covid as easily as adults, so the situation is a bit more subtle than you seem to suggest here.

Any serious policy which brings natural immunity into the fold would include the need for an actual medical diagnosis. I don't see the issue to raise to be a valid one because there are easy solutions.

This is a strawman argument. Two of the most covid vaccine hesitant groups are healthcare workers and PhD's. I'm not sure those folks are the ones with cognitive dissonance here. To be clear: I'm not arguing that the people
