I don't really understand your hostile response nor foaming-at-the-mouth hatred of blockchain technology (I'm guessing it came from a bad interaction with a crypto bro on Twitter or something), however I think OP is just saying th

HTMX/Rust seem like great choices for making good architectural decisions, having long-term scalability, and having great performance, but certainly not for rapid prototyping. If I'm validating a business idea / building a pr

I was on an MFE team earlier this year. It was sold to higher-ups as being for both, but I think in most cases it's bad for both. IME, it was sold in terms of code code-reuse by providing things like shared navigation bars, shared auth

After I lost all of my purchases after deleting my Facebook account (not that I used my old Quest anyways), I decided I would never purchase another Meta product (even though that's probably the LEAST abusive thing they do).

I'm not that familiar with IPFS I must admit (though it looks great conceptually), but if using the curl CLI tool, why would the operator not just curl the public gateway address? I'm confused on why such a shallow abstraction was

Well on the bright side, hopefully this incentivizes Jitsi to finally put first-class OIDC support into the codebase, which it still lacks. I don't want to set up an entire LDAP server when I already have Authelia running.

I would be surprised if politicians and regulators even know what a web browser is, so this might be a tough sell to them.

I could not disagree more. I really don't think people are going to trust Meta that much more over Twitter. I'm a pretty avid Twitter lurker and I don't even plan on trying out the app. I'm also a very happy Lemmy and Ma

OP is saying that the policy of the luggage being held by the FAA is stupid, not that preventing people from taking their luggage in an emergency is stupid. The emergency is over: the plane landed. Everyone got off the plane. Give them back

The reason for this (unjustified IMO) is bot/scraping prevention. On most VPNs you cannot browse profiles unless you're logged in. TikTok has a much more elegant solution to this problem (while still being a nightmare for bots

I very much doubt many good actors left the service over it. I assume their popularity comes from a battle-tested no-logs claim, a good UI/UX, and a general consensus that they're trustworthy.

Why is Spez so insistent on becoming public enemy #1? He's so obviously in the wrong here, yet is doubling, tripling, and quadrupling down on what is an obvious screw-up. Frankly I think this might be a worse PR move than what Elon did
