So a teacher refusing to teach a child who doesn't believe in god, and/or a teacher teaching wrong things is not an issue in your opinion? As long as kids are locked away safely at school so that you can go about your day job thin

So you are saying god rests in gravity? Why is it relevant if we understand all of physics? 5000 years ago people did understand almost nothing of physics, yet the laws of physics still applied.

You've got it wrong. There is always variation in a population. If a new environmental pressure arrives, some of these variations end up being more successful than others. In some time you might not find any terns who can't dive d

Except this isn't about beliefs and opinions, but about science. You can question evolution with the scientific method if you want to. And "save the kids" seems a bit more applicable when applied to teachers who are paid to e

Nature has an algorithm, it is called physics. Of course if you believe in god then the rules of physics don't apply, so I guess that won't convince you either.

Nowhere in evolution theory does it say that it has to take 1000s of years. Neither does it claim that every species would find a way to adapt to any change of environment. You are just creating strawmen to support your belief. Evolution th

The article also mentions that a lot of students in the class were students who had already failed the course before.

I would expect C to be the hardest language to learn. Frankly, I think your choice of progression of teaching languages seems extremely odd to me. Why not start with the easiest language (Python, or even JavaScript)?

The article doesn't really convince me that there are perils. Turns out the class where 50% of students failed was one were lots of students had already failed the course before, and a a major other part of the students didn't hav

I will have to try to feel more relaxed about this. I'd love to just do good work and have fun at work, and this feeling of obligation prevents that.

I'll try that next time, must admit I really have to overcome some inner resistance. I've been thinking to try "project based pay" again for that reason (fixed price for delivery/milestones), but that is of course f

My problem is that if I charge daily I feel obliged to work at least 8 hours a day, which frankly I often don't manage. Some days I waste too much time on the internet which I don't want to bill, or I am too tired (unfortunately m

I have no absolute numbers, but in recent years I have heard far more about attempted burglaries than in the decades before (in Germany). It sounds to me as if the burglars are mostly professionals, driving with trucks into suburbs to find

Well you kind of turned the issue around - why is offering to go home with somebody a challenge to their self-reliance and independence? I would have thought it is about safety and common sense. In the worst case it gives you one more optio

You doubt that the fact that a woman has to be pregnant for 9 months to have a baby (risking her life, too) whereas a man just needs to spill sperm for 10 seconds has any impact on society today? Well you only see what you want to see, is a

As I explained, indeed it is not the risk of an attack, it is the (biological) value of women that led to this culture of protecting them. Men are much more expendable than women - number of women available is the main limiting factor in cr

Kids aren't exposed to anything on the internet. It is not a push medium. I have used the internet for 20 years now and I don't think I have ever involuntarily encountered a porn site.

About the "being perceived as fragile" thing: women are not being offered a walk home because they are fragile, but because they are more valuable than men. Men are in fact more endangered on the street than women, but nobody care
