If you want a dark room, nail a thick blanket in front of your window, then put some nails above those to latch the bottoms of the blankets to when you want sun. It gets REALLY dark, about as dark as 10pm in the winter.

Nothing really concrete here, so I'm not sure it's very useful. No call to action, either.

Personally, grammatical mistakes like this have always bothered me, but most people don't even realize it's wrong. So it's odd to think that this would have an effect on the populace at large. Perhaps this site caters to an overly literate

We're talking about the neurological pain, the pain that you feel when you pinch yourself. An ant colony cannot feel this, unless it is somehow conscious.

Maybe I'm not your market, but this really has no appeal to me. Were you expecting to have high interest among us at HN? Still, site looks good for 5 weeks.

#1 has a severe flaw - how would you know beforehand how passionate users are going to get? It all depends on the implementation. Market size and fit are also important here, but I really don't think it's easy to figure this out beforehan

This brings up a point about people who provide solutions instead of just listing potential problems. I think this can apply to any field, and those who do it are much more valuable.

I disagree. For me, the only way Facebook helps me socially is as a sort of phone book and with events. Catching up over Facebook seems a useless event compared to conversing IRL. Besides, an inordinate amount of people use it as a game sys

I love Derek, but I would not say a costume is a tiny detail. I would say that even a super-important thing can be overlooked - but what are you to gain from that? The most abstract lesson I think you could get from that part would be make

Terrible UI. Couldn't read more than 2, and those I just glossed over. This would be interesting, but that thing is just painful to use.

I've never found slides useful without the actual talk given with them. Even the text would make this much more useful.

Speaking from experience here? I'm not sure I can agree with you - I don't think humans had a selective pressure to get better rest in soft, coccoon-like circumstances. Why should we be predisposed to do that?

I think I know why: the only funny part was the last cell. And this man was trying desperately to be funny the whole time. Oh, and the "design". Humongous blank space on the left; comic pushed off to the right. I really hope he didn't sen

I think the article meant that there are some days when you don't have motivation to do any work - you just don't feel like it. I like arranging music for fun, but I don't always feel like it. When I do try to force myself into it, I do

This is a really verbose post, but he does get around to alluding to a very good point: if iStuff supported Flash, you could develop in Flash and bypass the App Store. I think it's a pretty compelling argument.
