That's a ridiculous price to pay for ketamine. Though I'm hoping that cost includes a doctor's supervision and stuff? $6000 would buy me enough Special K for several life times ...

The Belgian public neither knowd nor cares. The press should have made a fuss but didn't. I remember a couple of very short articles about it, which kind of sort of maybe said the British might have potentially but not likely been invo

Here's a fun fact: when the US abolished slavery, they lost out on a lot of cheap/free labour. Guess what bridged the gap? Forced prison labour. Guess who filled the prisons? Former slaves. The old bait 'n switch. Guess who&#

My thinking was similar but a bit more cynical: if I'm going to be paying someone for company, I feel like I'd get more (pardon the awful pun) bang for my buck with a sex worker.

I'm one of those people who shouts in anger and frustration any time the subject comes up. Self hosting email is a pain in the arse. Google and MS are deliberately making it a pain in the arse. Spammers are making it a pain in the arse

I wish that were the case. I've been administering mail servers going back over 20 years and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The last 4 years or so, things have gotten a lot worse. Google and Microsoft are actively and delibe

Assuming you're running your own mailserver because you like the idea of a decentralized web; isn't it kind of odd to then rely on Amazon?

FB have taken out huge newspaper and billboard ads in Belgium, pretending to care about your privacy. They're trying to divert attention from their real privacy issues, by saying "you can choose who can see your stuff".

If you're interested in figuring out the costs, they sell devices —— called calorimeters i think -- which you can stick on the storage heaters and will make pretty decent estimates of the amount of energy released.

Nope, that's the upside of a draughty old building, all the air leaks keep the place well ventilated and pretty dry. 14C is not too low, in fact it was pretty common before the age of central heating. Additionally, I'm on the grou

Tangentially related anecdote: I remain convinced that it's the occupant, not the building that matters. I heat my uninsulated 1910 era flat for about ~150EUR/year. Of that 150 about 100 goes to hot water (showers, mostly). How? B
