While generally true, for what is worth the recently popular play money prediction site Manifold Markets, as well as the general predictions site Metaculus both seem to do well and reflect what you see elsewhere quick.

At least in my University, in 2010, they were very adamant to let us know in our first month there that Freud was quite wrong and that this is not what modern Psychology is like. If you think Freud is well-accepted you might be getting your

That's definitely not true. I occasionally buy 5-6 random 8-20e wine bottles from the local supermarket and they typically vary massively. Even when I order my favourites trying others listed as similar all taste very different to me.

I don't see how that follows. There's an enormous amount of different $20 bottles. There's probably enough different ones every year that if you try to you can have a different wine every single time you drink and still spend

Yes exploitability is improving but this hasn't been that much of a problem with top chess engines at any point.

Why would they want to avoid them? They just add liquidity to the market, incentivising better forecasters and improving the overall accuracy and robustness. More useful for them to gamble on that than something else.

Sure but often there isn't an obvious financial market to check. Prediction markets still update faster and more accurately than say the news or pundits. Hopefully they stop being hindered and become more popular so liquidity increases

I don't think it's that ridiculous. The default should be not to ban entertainment, and it's not so clearcut whether the danger outweighs the benefits much more than for many other legal forms of entertainment.
