When it comes to computer based user interfaces, I think the problem might be that they start to "look dated" after a while, even if they are perfectly good. The flat fad is just a new coat of paint to make things look fresh and n

Apple's high base prices and obscene upgrade prices finally crossed some hard to describe psychological barrier where I'm concerned. Bye, Apple. :(

Having to manually pass context through so many functions in code bases is definitely not ideal.

Microsoft Outlook on Mac: it can teak easily 2000ms to close(!) a window, are you kidding me? On my new 8th gen i7, restoring a Skype for Business window (from the task bar, so it's already running), I've measured at sometimes i

Happy iPhone and iPad user here... but I can't help but think Apple is walking down an unfortunate path these days. The recently refreshed MacBook Air and Mac mini really smacked me in the face. Astonishingly, ridiculously high price

I'm astonished Microsoft doesn't have automated tests for something as mundane as testing their built-in zip archive extraction functionality.

I read somewhere (lost the source) that 5 mg is far too much, and that closer to 0.5 mg is not only sufficient, but works better. Do you have any experience changing the size of your melatonin dose, and if so, could you share any findings

I have a question for those people that don't like this change in behavior: Doesn't this change in behavior make things far less confusing for non-technical users?

I was recently on vacation and Apple Maps provided a poor experience, including but not limited to telling me to take a right where there was no road and into the ocean . Google Maps to the rescue; it gave me 100% accurate directions 100

I've never understood why they don't offer all the same sweet drinks, but with something like Splenda instead of sugar. Perhaps it's better this way, otherwise I'd probably be at Starbucks a lot more often.

This is insightful. The author implies that if you have a healthy skepticism when megacorps throw around billions of dollars, you're not "grown up."

Every big company tries to claim they have changed, will change and are currently in a process of change. This is insightful, and in addition to this, culture change can and does happen at companies. Just because they're evil today,

I'm fine with being cautious about Microsoft. I think at this point it's no longer necessary, but sure I can understand that. But the EEE plot-line is a 20 year old joke. It's not funny anymore. It's never time to st

What I'm saying is that telephone number as ID is fine, but non-telephone number as ID should be supported, too. They should be trying to include everyone, telephone and non-telephone users alike.

What if the user is on a WiFi-only tablet, or laptop, or desktop PC? What if the user is at an Internet cafe? What if the phone user has no cellular signal but has WiFi access? Clearly it would be a mistake to limit this to just phone users

As someone that uses his iPad with a Bluetooth keyboard frequently, I'd say the bigger issue is lack of mouse support in iOS. It's terrible to have to keep reaching up and pawing at the screen.

I came here to say the same thing, and I'm so relieved I'm not the only one. Looking at those one- and two-letter variable names constantly leaves me scratching my head and wasting time figuring out what they mean.
