I'm really sad to see this misconseption over and over on HN. Please don't be rude. Verbosity is so much worst than syntax complexity because you ends up having dozens of different patterns that do the same thing overall but wi

I often feel like I'm the only software developer in the world that thinks most programming languages are evolving in the wrong direction. Our civilization is going to end up with countless dead languages -- dead programming languages,

Slack has a pastebin built in, too. I'm not sure why your comment was down voted, but as both an IRC and Slack user, I have to say I love Slack's built in pastebin.

This is great. How do you feel about Minetest? Minetest is great, but ultimately will remain niche. Vanilla Minetest is just too sterile (no mobs, "dead-ish" world--big turn-off for kids), and installation+mods is just too hard

Apple is driven by an upgrade model to buy a new Apple device every three years or so. I disagree. My wife's iMac is 6 1/2 years old, and still gets the latest OS updates (for free!), though we're upgrading to a new iMac so

Except that we've been pumping radio waves out of this rock as loud as we can for decades. We're the loud cousin who can't keep quiet when hunting. The inverse-square law makes this a non-concern, doesn't it?

Right now the Nexus 5x is looking pretty nice. A friend of mine that works at Google -- and received a free Nexus 5x for Christmas -- told me the n5x is a pretty lousy phone. I Googled around, and sure enough, it looks like a lemon.

iPhone 6 had a killer feature some had been waiting 5+ years for, its size. The 6s has... 3D Touch and bit better camera. And twice the RAM (1 GB iPhone 6 vs. 2 GB iPhone 6s) and a faster CPU and other goodies.

I think the primary reason very few people play Minetest is because of marketing and piss poor default gameplay. I agree. "Vanilla" Minetest needs monsters, villages, villagers, fortresses, more ores, more items, etc. in order
