This is very cool. I've always wanted a "virtual platform" that can run on even the creakiest of hardware. I especially like that it uses ASM instead of some embedded language. Some people think of the Pico-8 as this but it&#

This is flagrantly incorrect. All the really big "lifestyle" brands use sans serif instead.

Best I can tell, it's some strange complex electronic networked chemistry set that sends data back to home base for mass analysis. It's all supposedly for humanitarian purposes but I am unfamiliar with the bodies involved so you&#

Hmm. This seems like an interesting protocol. Not a big fan of the whole mod election approach though. Seems like it might just turn into a constant scramble for power. Still, the front page does seem to imply mods can only sorta block cont

This is cool and all but I really think you should have at least something for us to dick around with before you announce something big like this. Still, I'll be keeping tabs on development. This seems like it could be /fun/.

Just want to express my admiration for what you and the team did with perplex city. Thank you for making something so damn cool. The believable near future sci-fi. The beautiful art and design work. The binding of a community from all acros

Fun fact: In the Japanese version it's literally just mac TTS voices with machine translated English. The distortion effects were presumably added so people overseas wouldn't notice how jarring it is. It's such a cool effect

The TG-16/PC-Engine is a pretty cool mid-step between 8 and 16 bit consoles. It was super popular in japan but wasn't really in the west (Released too late maybe?) I REALLY like it's wavetable synth sound. For whatever reas

Ah, good times. Back when most games didn't have mac versions (before everyone used unity/unreal/godot), this was a real boon for me. I have since moved to windows but I still appreciate the effort. R.I.P. that venice instagi

DPaint should be a pack in. No question. Its so good that some old school pixel masters STILL swear by it despite the main platform it was released on being dead for a quarter decade. That's a program for the ages.

The MEGA65 might be up your alley. It's half resurrection of the c65 prototype, half it's own thing. It's been in dev hell for YEARS but actually looks like it might be coming out next year so fingers crossed.

They've been trying do this for like two decades and even in the space future year of 2020 I still don't think they know enough about computers to actually put this in place. "Yeah, just make the big magic thing read our thou

Zig has a LOT of good stuff going for it but one of my pet peeves is how arsey the linter gets about formatting. No tabs (They might begrudgingly fix that one), no multiline comment/string support (and before anyone tries to correct me

To be honest, learning power editors is mostly just an excuse to fiddle about at work without getting in trouble. The work's still visibly getting done and the bosses don't care if the UI keeps changing so it's a win for me.

One day I hope we can get this tech large scale enough to recreate the bath scene from space madness. Maybe we could even use waves to remotely oscillate the water so you don't need a large enclosed chamber (Although that probably woul

Gotta hand it to the Wachowskis, they've really put dedication into the Matrix mythos. 20 years later and long since it's end they're STILL commited to making it stupider. If you actually watch the video. It's all about

I have no idea about the specifics but from what I've heard developers really liked the XBOX (despite it's unholy internals) so I'd say the API was actually nice. As for HLE based on the API it's definitely possible but

I know nothing about the actual underlying architecture but from the (credible) sources I've heard from apparently it's a really nice API hiding an absolutely unholy mess and that's why emulation has been so poor for so long.
