Holy moly! As a big user of midi (I'm trying to make music for embedded platforms) the sequencer is a KILLER feature. I've used LMMS in the past as I still find it much easier to compose with a sequencer than an actual music sheet

She's not as small as she used to be (Currently sitting at 61.1MB and has been over 30MB since 3.0) but to put that in perspective, that's smaller than the binaries for Half-Life 2 and even Half-Life 1. The release binary is even

Argh. Unreal engine 1 can be a real pain, even on windows! Just recently I tried running Deus Ex and had to use the hacked .exe files and a custom graphics mode for it to not have serious issues. Tim Sweeney said he'd like to release t

The only problem is the CTU mess if you're analyzing more than one file, thus the aforementioned tools' necessity. Hopefully in a future version the kinks are ironed out and we can just use the flag without any hassle. It's l

Yep! Thanks for pointing out the perl script I mentioned. You appear to have completely ignored the rest of my post on them leaving important functionality to third party scripting languages.

Clang has it although I've personally never tried it due to the horrible rigamarole of setting it up. In GCC it's a compiler flag. In LLVM it's a convoluted process automated by either an irritating perl/python script (T

A common term used in software development for "throwing crap at the wall" My instincts tell me it was coined in the 90's amid the disgusting/edgy phase after the long "dad jokes" phase of the years before. (Un

I very much like this idea and have toyed around with it in my head for years. MAYBE regular HTML and CSS could be allowed for some authentic geocities design but no JavaScript whatsoever. Being able to run client side code has a lot of ben

I really want to see more from this. I've literally had dreams of having a sandbox version of the world as we know it. I'll probably be downloading this and exploring a creepy empty version of my hometown. I love the idea of havin

Impressed so far. I like all the memory debugging stuff without all the irritating handholdy solutions commonly used such as garbage collectors and just not being able to work with raw pointers in general. With all the focus on runtime comp

The biggest pain in the bum with early consoles like the NES is all the cartridge hardware you have to muck about with. I'm sure most of you reading this already know but the gist of it is that NES cartridges had their own special chip

You want to know who's fault this is? Yours, whoever wrote this article. It constantly complains that modern teens barely touch anything underneath the surface in tech but ironically completely smears over any of the underlying issues.

I would have settled for XP. I love that clunky old thing but Win7 is the cooler faster son that was "just right" with the most new features (That you actually want) before a lot of the legacy stuff rotted off in windows 8. (Still
