Flu are caused by the viruses, pneumonia is the serious bacterial infection of the lungs potentially caused by having influenza. You would count seasonal pneumonia if you wanted to see how serious that seasonal flu was.

No, I don’t think I am missing that. Which is why I used those words. I have no doubt covid is worse than flu and have no issue with being more cautious than reckless. But if you can find me a model that shows we’re no where near peak deat

>That was easy wasn't it. Was it? I don’t get it. I found that there so far have been covid 234,133 deaths [0] and season flu can cause up to 646,000 deaths [1]. So I’m not seeing 9x to 44x by any reasonable metric or projection. Wh

You wonder how many people just * some aspects of production? First thing we do when there is an issue in Dev is to * the policy out.

Our use cases are almost certainly different, but I can think of no ways I’ve had to workaround or deal with scaling. AWS seems super happy to let you use as much data as you possibly can (obviously). Yes, registration can be complex! JIT r

I’m working on IoT Core. It’s good, about what you would expect. Most everything is solid. Typical AWS issues that there are policy things that only “make sense” (loosely) after you’ve failed at them many times. My specific annoyance right

True, but look at all the things Uber has been getting into. While Silicon Valley start ups have been trying to be the “Uber of <whatever>”. Uber doesn’t seem to want to be Uber, at least not the potentially fair/unfair drive sha

Yes, that’s true. I didn’t think I had to clarify it there but if you aren’t familiar with the idea it is an important factor.

A practical reason you can’t just allow the compiler to do it is if you are doing goofy things like overlaying two structures, void pointer manipulation or casting one object to the format of another because you know the first n number of e

If you just order top down in structures from pointers, 32s, 16s, arrays, 8s, it’s almost entirely done without thinking. There is almost never a difference to the user what order things are structured. Although to be fair this does get tri

I use C for embedded. I do the “lost art” of structure packing all the time. I don’t want ada. I’m not sure why “use a different language” is such a common reply to any language specific discussion.

I don’t like this argument. Yes, your phone could be used to get information on you. That does not mean there is then no issue with phones doing contact scanning and recording. You can own a phone, acknowledge the risk, and not want to see

There is no BLE hard limit to device connections here at all. This whole system works on advertising packets. Beacons are non-connectable, aptly named. Your phone can be connected n number of BLE devices and also appear to be n number of pe

I have a hard time believing Trump opened his own mail and went to the bank to deposit a $1 check. He surely has people for that and they did exactly what they were paid to do. It’s kinda rude to not cash a check, it leaves the money in lim

I think you’re on to something there. What if we made on very large, and collected lots of water at a central point and could control how much of it we use for electricity? It’s a damn good idea.
