I sleep for 7 hours, my partner sleeps for ~ 8.5. Things I've noted: - My sleep "schedule" doesn't have enough hours in the day. Monday I'm asleep at 10, Tuesday 11, Wednesday 12... etc - Lying in bed when not tired

Maybe. Curious to what "at worst" would be... For the record I'm not saying they are taking this stance for some charitable reason, I'm saying it would/could make financial sense for them, especially considering the

Agreed. Apple has been mostly good wrt to privacy in the past, but since they've started to make it a selling/differentiation point, I expect them to solidify their stance. I think it's a genius move. People will begin to und

Is this not illegal? I'm working in London right now, and have been looking at jobs in the US, but the workers rights seem incredibly hostile, and downright crazy to me...

I would say they probably do. I think the OP's point is that those that save often spend or debt-finance a lot of things like phones & cars. I feel slightly jaded when I see people with $1k phones who clearly can't afford it,

Good info, thanks. We are a decent sized company now, so maybe that's why we have a rep. I'd be surprised if Braintree offers reps to every 1 man start up though. From a scale perspective doesn't really make sense, and yeah y

At my company we use Stripe, and we have a rep that (I believe?) we have a direct line to. We started using them ~ 18 months ago, so maybe something has changed recently, but from my PM's perspective I think they have been quite respon

Yes, but biologically men are faster runners. We can measure this by comparing times from various athletes/general population. It is very difficult to quantify skill at creating software. I don't know if these two things are compa

How do you like contracting? I'm on salary at the moment, but it would take a lot for me to make anything near what the day rates for 3/6 month contracts are paying.

Hey there, Londoner here feeling quite constrained with salaries, curious where you find 130-150/hr remote gigs. Mostly through a personal network? Or a recruiter? Really curious.

It scales "well enough", in that we currently do it, and pay for people to verify the results. In Australia a lot of this work is done by volunteers from the major parties. Edit: I agree, its difficult to scale an attack on paper

You can't. Especially at scale (every person validating the software before voting). Paper ballots with a anonymised ledger of votes placed is, in my opinion, the best method.

This is such an ignorant statement, it makes my blood boil. People shouldn't be left to die, because they weren't naturally blessed with an adaptability that allows them to be retrained into software engineers. There are a huge nu

You've commented this on like 4 other replies. I'm largely uninvolved in cryptocurrency-politics, but do you have an agenda? It seems absurd that you want your voice to be heard so much that you would literally copy paste your rep

Nice anecdote, and I'm glad your friend was made whole (and then some), but this is crazy. I wonder how many times the same scenario has played out, and the company continued to spiral into bankruptcy. Separating emotion from $$$ is im

You might be right. I've never thought of giphy as just an image hosting platform though. It's more about the integrations with apps that is their edge. Something imageshack/imgur never really nailed.

These are still 200 million pairs of eyes every day on their product. VC funding has looked like a joke recently, but 200million daily users at $600M doesn't seem ridiculous, regardless of how silly/bad the product is.
