I have a Bolt and a Model 3. The Bolt is a perfectly good car, but nowadays you'd be crazy to buy a Bolt, which is why in this area they are selling brand new for $14K under MSRP.

That's fine for many applications, but for someone like me who has a Continuous Glucose Monitor having my phone/watch be with me at all times is a fact of life. I look forward to the day when my CGM interfaces directly with my wat

I donate money to the EFF regularly, but their click-baity hysteria annoys me too.

We ripped open the walls. This was done in the context of a larger remodel and then a rebuild of the back of the house after a fire.

Hiding under a passing car sounds rather dangerous. Did you mean parked? :-)

People made this exact same "no evidence" argument about animals for years, and many still believe it. The fact is we don't know enough about how plants or animals experience life to be sure of anything.

I still have some knob and tube wiring in my home (which is 96 years old). I've ripped out most of it over the years, but it is amazing how reliable it actually is.

It is a somewhat common feature of customer service phone systems to have a way to do callbacks, though I hadn't heard of one that did it automatically without your consent. The feature costs the company using it money, since they have

For the Pixel 5, I believe I read that the hardware is the same everywhere (although verizon and some other carriers may have the phone carrier-locked, at least temporarily). The 4a 5G does have a different version for Verizon. Disclaimer:

The student debt problem has little to do with the people who go to elite universities. Let me give a slightly biased plug to my nephew's documentary on the problem, Fail State ( https://failstatemovie.com/ ), produced b

California has seriously discussed doing exactly that. But given the situation in DC, it is likely that they would be actively sabotaged by the federal government if they tried. So much for "states rights"....

Well, yes and no. They can avoid healthcare requirements by not allowing people to work 30+ hours per week (as Walmart and MacDonalds often do), but that doesn't get rid of their other obligations to employees (disability, unemployment

Susan did great things. But like Lattner, the whole Apple Fellow thing doesn't apply because she doesn't work for Apple. It isn't some sort of hall of fame, it is a paid position.

great point. I sometimes see TVCs absolutely loading their plates with food, and it makes me think about what a blessing it is for them to be able to access high quality food at least once per day.

Many universities are planning to have at least some of their classes be in-person this fall. My daughter was just admitted to Seattle U, and they expect her to be moving into her dorm in about a month. I am mostly expecting this to be canc

I'm a paying customer with about 240 recipes imported. Saffron works very well overall and I recommend it, though I did have to do a lot of hand editing on some of the recipes.

They showed the flat logo as a badge on their new concept car, right when they announced it. Maybe they are backtracking now, but it seems pretty clear their original intent was to put it on the cars.
