Part of the American mythology is that government involvement is always bad. It's hard for me to know if this developed because of the myths of the America Revolution, that a small colony won it alone and not because of external factor

From my understand this is going to the poorest of the poor in Kenya, because the median Kenyaian monthly salary is ~800 USD.[1][2] So this UBI experiment does not seem to be for the average population, more as a form of welfare. Still inte

Absolutely, most big mobile development teams I know do not use storyboards or NIBs because they are not easily human reviewable. (A small change will rearrange sections for seemlying no reason.)

I'm arguing that heliocentrism was a means to an end. The Catholic Church was being accused of not taking the Bible seriously by the Protestents which is what caused the whole "heliocentrism heresy", but it wasn't really

This article begins with a false story about Galileo being locked up for promoting heliocentrism. That is not why he was locked up. Copernicus came before Galileo, promoted heliocentrism and was employed by the Catholic Church. Galileo was

I'm sorry but this headline doesn't reflect the content of the article. (The linked article has the same headline.) The article is more about enabling VS Code extentions by workspace in order to keep VS Code fast. The current head

How do these handle kerning? I'm guessing they are monospaced? Looking on the page I can't find any of the CSS Sans used in a sentence. Edit: Found a demo page[1], it's monospaced. [1] https://yusugomori.com/p

Recursion could be considered a form of looping. Eve does not have recursion either, see my above comment[0] on how Eve managed to apply computation to a bunch of values without loops. [0] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?i

Eve doesn't have loops, because the basic unit isn't a variable but a set of variables. So a computation is applied to every element in a value. e.g. x = [1, 2, 3] x + 2 // x = [3, 4, 5] I have since learned that APL doe
