I appreciate the concept, as checking out has always been a bottleneck from my experience, so not having to queue up to use awful self-checkout machine is a nice plus. However the SMS-based payment flow is awful and a security nightmare. Ju

Haven't happened to me ever, but then I've never used Uber in France. Is there anything you can do in the app like raise a dispute, etc? If not, for 3.26$ I'd just let it go and leave a 1-star review to the driver. Such a rev

LinkedIn is okay if you use it well. I've gotten multiple contracts from there. The platform could use a little maintenance though. The iOS app is an absolute crime and it would be good if there was some moderation. Some recruiters are

Business pricing is not just there for the sake of it, it's mostly used to subsidise infrastructure building costs which can rack up in the tens of thousands. You could potentially negotiate with them on the monthly subscription price

The thing is, I don't really mind if illegal things are happening on a dedicated platform. Users who are determined to break the law will break it anyway, so I don't care if they have a platform explicitly designed for doing so. H

The Washington Post is the perfect example of this. They have two paid plans, a "Basic" one and a "Premium EU Ad-Free Subscription" promising "No on-site advertising or third-party ad tracking". However, tryi

This model wasn't that bad. Given this was print, the ads were somehow vetted - chumboxes (Outbrain/Taboola) wouldn't exist, because even the shittiest of newspapers would say "What is this bullshit?" and put a stop

I agree with you on the startup time but after that it's honestly not that bad IMO. I'm using it on a tiny 12-inch MacBook with a dual-core processor and it works fine; and doesn't noticeably impact battery life (as opposed

Thanks but no thanks, I'll stick to PyCharm/IntelliJ. At least the latter is using RAM & battery life to do useful things, instead of just running a browser and a glorified web app. Also, it feels like an insult to say Sublime

In an alternate world where the advertising industry is respectful I would agree. In our current world the advertising industry has demonstrated their inability to self-regulate, and even Google isn’t any better (see the recent issues regar

It’s cute that you think asking a hostile actor to be nice and delete data early and not store some of it would actually work when their bottom line directly depends on them doing so. They can very well pretend not to do it while secretly s
