Sure, if you take the most benign examples, it doesn't sound so bad. But it's so much worse than that. Going back to 2012 for "acting on data analysis gone wrong" Target Sends Coupons to Pregnant Girl and Unawares Dad Ex

I'm not a fan of review bombing, and I think it's current player score (2.2 / 1-) is an unfair result of that; the over the top backlash to the changes. That being said, I certainly wouldn't say the 86 / 100 critics

While I think "everybody" is stretching it... the general idea here is accurate. From my memory, the first two "rounds" of good D&D games on the PC were the SSI games (Eye of the Beholder, Pools of Radiance, etc) and

The low score is not completely unwarranted, though. The game itself is pretty wonderful. But the balancing and QOL decisions made by the developers has been; abysmal, and getting worse with each patch. It sounds like 1.1.1 is going to help

I'm of the same opinion as you, here. I generally have 10+ "extra" files in my project directory (output files, notes, one-off scripts for certain things, etc). When I add files to a commit, I do it by filename, never "e

Static analyzers are a tool. And peer reviews are a tool. And compilers are a tool. Being able to combine tools together (as I noted we did) helps you generate better code.

Static analysis tools and peer reviews can catch different types of issues, though. Just like a statically compiled language can catch some bugs that a dynamic language would not; but not everything. I'm a big fan of peer reviews, and
