I have only basic knowledge of this but it feels like it should be possible to mathematically prove the correctness of bignum implementation, even if it's in C, no? And it would be very valuable work too.

I heard somewhere on the internet (actually /r/crypto) that after being bought by Facebook, they are cancelling or backdooring it. Sounds like conspiracy to me but then again it's Facebook...

Wow, I feel really sorry for all Kzakhstan citizens. Also, this is a great example of 'rubber-hose cryptoanalysis' - who cares about 4096 RSA or whatnot if the government can just beat you until you oblige...

This problem makes me very sad, because of all the affected people in the region, because of the poor orangutans and because of losing hundreds of years old trees in the rainforest. But could it be solved if you think about it from this dir

Wait, how do I prevent automatic update to Win10? I actually like the UI but the system Does Not Work (tm) on my hardware (I tried). I'm finding it hard to believe MS is going to auto-brick my laptop overnight.

I would avoid using .zip file format encryption, who knows how safe that is. PGP as encryptor would probably be a better choice.

I'm with you on this one. As a diver, seeing all this f ing garbage in the sea makes me angrysad. I have had some success telling my friends about this problem (don't be too annoying with it) but I think the real solution is a pl

With std::unique_ptr (you can set the deleter) and ScopeGuard you don't need to create new types for every type of resource. I respectfully disagree with leaks not being a problem.

First time I see this. I understand jack of it but it's really amazing. On one side, it seems not too different from an abacus (it's just a machine!), on the other side there's a connection to the processor that I use right n

That article is extremely outdated and by today standards quite ill-informed. Many of its arguments could be equally made for error codes. Try some of these instead: http://channel9.msdn.com/Shows/Going+Deep/C

Since Tinder already shows you almost nothing else but photos, we are already in the situation you describe. OTOH, there's always a gradient, not everyone can have the prettiest girls.
