Police who refuse to identify themselves and carry no markings used against an administration's political opponents sure sounds like something everyone should be opposed to, no matter their political camp. If someone thinks that's

Maybe you aren't from the US -- there's a long history of systemic racism here, The protests that are happening across our nation are in response to those systemic issues, particularly how policing and race interact. Race, therefo

What? Yes, there absolutely are companies that give 1 worker 1 vote. There is a company model called a worker coop that gives each worker one share in the company. They are in many industries, from video games (e.g. Motion Twin) to massive

Some companies are democracies. There's nothing that requires a company to be an autocracy, it's just culturally normal (and maybe more efficient when it comes to decision making).

Practically, the things that people are advocating for with defunding are things like stopping paid administrative leave for cops under investigation, cutting pensions and rehire rates for cops who use excessive force, require cops to be li

I'm heartened by city council members Tammy Morales in Seattle, Nury Martinez in LA, and Steve Fletcher in Minneapolis who are all seriously discussing significantly defunding or disbanding their police departments. While we've ha

There's no such thing as unbiased news coverage. Any news outlet has more stories to report than they have capacity to report. They must exhibit some bias to control for what they show. (Or, alternatively, I guess they could just rando

VR can trigger reflexive behaviors in people, e.g. trying to avoid an incoming projectile, putting their hands up to protect their face, stepping back from a high place. Many folks can get deep suspension of disbelief from just text. Many f

This is dangerously wrong. I went way too long before trying an antidepressant because I was worried I'd lose who I was, that I'd face social stigma, and that I was somehow cheating. Turns out they've made me more expressive,
