MPD this is certainly not. But it's a neat way to discover music. Thing keeps crashing pretty randomly and I keep sending you the crash reports so hope that helps. The meta data discovery works nicely - which is what got me to try it o

Just look at all the titles mentioned in this thread of games that came out previously with similar ideas, all borrowing from others. The last original idea was the big bang and that was over 13 billion years ago.

I know it's awfully arbitrary. I make terrible analogies but indulge me. I ask you to dig a hole and pay you 10$. I then pay you 10$ (or better still you pay me) to fill the whole. Was 20$ dollars worth of value created? Company makes

What I mean is some question whether hedge funds and the like add value to the economy - botting in MMO has the added characteristic of the economy not even being real (I know it involves real money but you know what I mean). I'm all u

The story is fascinating but I cannot help but think what a massive waste of time and resources it is. And I thought hedge fund managers were not adding value to society. This puts things in perspective. I especially like the bit where he e

"It seems most JRPGs are set in a world that combines science fiction (advanced gadgets) and fantasy (magic, swords) whereas the western world keeps the two entirely separate." Not true. There are many western RPGs that do that: A

Can you really have more than 1 or 2 friends? You only have two kidneys and a friend is someone you'd be willing to give a kidney to (compatibility aside).

Fair warning though, if you don't want to see the dark side of your heroes maybe skip it. Because the book is very thourough and they did some morally questionable things. Repeatedly. I was horrified. I thought maybe some of it is not

Great bit of research but what are the criteria for knowing the word? I doubt many western men actually know what a bolshevik is. Is this selfcertified or multiple choice?

The problem with leaving the country is that your very good degree is now almost worthless. I got mine (from a good technical uni) issued in English, I even wrote my thesis in English. Not a single employer wanted to look at it. Yet, I earn

Most game devs never get to go to ANY conference, let alone E3. You make it sound like everyone gets a free flight to LA and a tourist visa.

None of these is inherently wrong and "unleashing a programming language on junior programmers" is a a bit of a cliche that can be levelled at any language. I get to maintain some nasty c++ code at work that was two decades in the
