Why would you want to do it remotely? I have worked with interns from a lot of countries, and this is something especially the EU makes a lot easier (but I've also worked with interns from e.g. Egypt). And while we have done remote internsh

I'm not so sure about that. I just worked on a website that contained some video (for a children's show TV format), and we did some calculations on what hosting the video would cost. With 50 Mb/video, you can do 20 video's for 1 Gb of traff

This! I'm convinced 3D printing will become a lot cheaper, but until I played with tinkercad last weekend I thought the design of objects would be really complex. Here it's quite easy!

Impressive how short this can be with the right libraries: 40 lines of code to scrape an index, download the pages, get the right parts, and make them an ebook. However, wouldn't it be more efficient if one person would do this, and publish

It seems strange to me that they do have a "Move files matching Y to Glacier at moment X" interface, but not a "Move this to Glacier now" interface. Or am I missing something? I guess you could do the second with the first, but it seems mor

Why are you going via your server? Couldn't you have the JS get the data from Facebook's Graph API directly?

Interesting to do this in hardware, as it will work for all devices on your network: also tablets and so on. However, I wonder how many people have separate modems and routers: Most providers (here at least) have modem/wifi AP combo's, whic

Scary that it wants access to all websites. Is that needed? Beyond that, I have to say it works really easy: Install the extension, and nothing changes but Hulu works here.

And it is 5-10x as expensive as Glacier itself... Also, assuming Arc stores your data in a 'standard' way, I only have to worry about Amazon going out of service. Here there is also the risk of this small german company.

The first thing I would try is rebuilding the cache. Since you only need to do key-value lookups, there are many (easy) approaches, that can scale better than MySQL. You could do JSON files on a filesystem (with some nesting, as you don't w

Why would it be too expensive? How many fab's are there (so, which % of worldwide output does each do), and how much % of all intel chips is bought by Apple? If the numbers are somewhat equal, they buy the capacity of one fab anyway. Then t

First, you could try Datasift or Gnip, who both sell twitter data, and thus have no API limit. Not sure if you can afford it, as it does have a cost. Second, maybe you could use the streaming API: you could get part of the data that way, an

Why? I also have one of these optibay's, and it doesn't contain any active parts: It's just a piece of metal to make your drive fit in the place of the CD drive. Why does this cause issues on the SSD's?

How does this work? They have an android app. I guess that connects to your router to change your DNS. (which then resolves their IP for some ad hosts). But how does it set their DNS in your router? Is there a standard API for that? Or did

So, they aim for max 1.4 million in revenue (100k x $20 - 30% for apple, minus an unknown amount for beta testers) for the lifetime of the app. How many people have worked on it? It does show the limited upside of twitter apps under the new

I quite like the idea. However, of the about 10 domains I checked (5 letter ones), only one was available. You probably should use a different, more reliable, way of checking for availability?
