I bought a mini-ITX board with 4 SATA ports and an embedded CPU. I added a PCIe card with 2 additional SATA ports. I bought a mini-ITX case with mounts for 6 HDDs. I have 5 8TB drives (RAIDZ2) and 1 SSD as the boot drive. The system runs Ub

I use Linux, Windows, and macOS basically every day. All three have pros and cons. I use Linux at work because I love i3 and am willing to put up with other quirks to have it. I use Windows for games, Lightroom, etc. I use macOS for compili

Linux as a server/headless OS has been fantastic for me. I have a home NAS running Linux that hasn't been rebooted in over a year and that was due to swapping out hard drives. Linux as my desktop OS, not so much. I have to reboot

G Docs and Confluence are VERY different products, in my view. One is about documents and one is about information sharing. You better pick early which one you're trying to be.

I tried Arch Linux in a dual boot scenario on this System76 laptop and I don't recall why I switched back... I think it's because I tried to upgrade the graphics driver and got into state where I couldn't get X to run at all.

Maybe discoverability is the problem. GUI IDEs make discoverability really easy with lots of menus, settings, modals, etc. which lowers the barriers to entry and learning curve.

Unfortunately I have to use that driver to support the external monitors on my laptop because the display ports are directly wired to the nvidia GPU and the open source one doesn't work at all for me.

Disagree with Linux. I make an LVM snapshot before making any attempts to upgrade the graphics driver. It's a disaster. And don't say proprietary code, that's beside the point. Windows runs drivers in a way that one that cras
