This is very true for me too. I used Vue frontend and php backend, it makes it more fun to work on the frontend, but it's definitely slower for me compared to just rendering everything serverside. The more I learned, the slower I becam

You're wrong. I've been doing it for 11 years, and it really is simple and quick. Package-managers does most of the work and there isn't much config necessary to start out. You should give it a go.

Why should people not run their own email server? It's not like email is moving fast, so it's mostly set and forget. Automatic security updates are a thing, so it really is a non-issue. There sure are things that require quite a b

Making sure the referer is correct is good enough. Other sites can't without permission send requests with a referer belonging to your site, and that won't change, unless the spec changes, and that's very very unlikely.

I don't think $25k is a large payment in githubs eyes. There are much smaller companies that doesn't even blink spending ten times as much. And this was definitely approved before they went out and told people what they would pay

Safari on iOS really is total garbage. Everything this person said is true, but he forgot a few things: It's really inconsistent. Adding a webpage to the homescreen usually makes the experience even worse as apple usually have two webk

It just sucks that ad-blockers are so slow. Do you have a really fast page without ads? Then using a plugin for ad-blocking will make the experience noticeably slower, often going from no noticeable delay to "this isn't instant&qu

First off all, yes. On mobile(Note 10+) the first experience is lag when I start scrolling. Second, it has very little information and a bunch of scroll-points are just blank and a total waste of time, resulting in "oh, slightly furthe

Mod_php was always faster at executing scripts. There is less overhead as you don't have to communicate like you have to with fpm. For light scripts this is far superior to fpm. On the other hand, always loading php does have it's

Page-loads in chrome are usually really slow if you have an adblocker. ABP runs a bunch of JS on every load and the page load performance goes from being seemingly instant when the mouse button is released to having a noticeable delay. Sure

Beautiful? There's a reason why it got the name, it looks like a trashcan. And the old mac pro is filled with garbage(how fitting, right?). If it was any good then apple would have stuck to it, but it was garbage, so they didn't.

Adblockers in chrome are slow. Fast pages goes from having no noticeable delay to having one. Many times the latency is not uncommon. Sure, this is only a problem for really fast pages, but it's still really annoying.
