I think many of these kinds of comments are driven by a form of insecurity. They subconsciously wish they had written the article and are envious of the attention the author is receiving… so they find whatever small nitpick they can in orde

How do you even print an object that large in 24hrs, nevermind actually testing/iterating on the design? It seems a little disingenuous to say those aspects were done in 24 hours unless I’m missing something.

It absolutely doesn’t read like typical marketing copy, and yes it’s not a dense technical blog post either. I’m sure the use cases and examples will come, but putting them in this post would have been overkill. Also, stealth mode just mean

The problem is that most of these apps have good and bad stuff on them. I get a lot of value out of high quality content on youtube, but I also have to try really hard to not get sucked into watching an endless stream of garbage youtube sho

This ignores the fact that many of the apps people use are designed and A/B tested to maximize time spent/wasted. The fact that it happens to not work on you does not mean it works for everyone. Sometimes an addiction really is be

Yes, sure, we can look at things on a case-by-case basis. It’s pretty easy to look at something like bitcoin and see that inefficiency is the purpose rather than the byproduct, and then make regulations about that.

The article is paywalled so I can’t read the whole thing, but it seems to be making the flawed assumption that short term financial success is the only things that matters… rather than looking out for things like the long-term well-being of

I also don’t think most people realize just how much energy it uses. It is mind blowing. I remember doing some calculations a couple years ago and discovering that if you took the total energy spent on mining bitcoin per year, and divided i

While I don’t disagree with you, I feel like I have to point out that this post does something that I see a lot in discussions around weight loss, which is conflating “simple” with “easy”. It is simple to walk 10k every day, but it is not e

So this year if I spend $150k on foreign research (which includes ANY software development), and then I also earn $150k in revenue: despite me having $0 in the bank, I will only be able to deduct 1/15 of that, or $10k. In other words,

Your CPA is incorrect. The law now applies to ALL software development and related activites, regardless of what state the product is in.

Well the “good” thing about this law is that it also classifies ALL software development (and any supporting activities!) as R&D. And yes that’s as absurd as it sounds, but it’s true.

This applies to all foreign R&D, not just where it is much cheaper… and unless it is many times less expensive, it will not be worth it. Only being able to deduct 1/15th per year is absurd.

You MUST spread it over 15 years, which is brutal for most companies and will mean no longer hiring any foreign R&D or software development contractors.

This kind of approach never works except for in the most egregious of situations. Just imagine what the state of car safety would be like if it was purely left up to the market. Regulations work.

This is interesting but you might want to prevent people from sending in a chat message before the ai’s last message has been sent. It’s very easy to spam click the “send” button and watch the game try to send dozens of responses at once.

In the video you can see that there’s a transition time, but it’s maybe more obvious in the second run that’s halfway through the video. The player tweens from being near the end of the screen to directly in the center of their slice. Just

It’s a neat idea. I think I’d prefer the effect if it transitioned more gradually rather than quickly changing to “split mode”. For the right kind of game I could definitely see this working. In fact you could make a whole game based around

This law has a specific provision (and the IRS issued even more guidance confirming it) defining that all expenses related to software development are covered by section 174 and count as R&D. This includes labor costs for not just the d
