While this is technically true, I disagree with the undertone. I think the industry is fundamentally different and in its most extreme realizations has been shown to cause severe emotional harm to exploited workers.

It actually is not an absurd statement if you take in to account the entire quote, "…as a means of exchange." 10 million companies using bit pay is good for raising awareness of the general public, and may in fact lead to more wid

I feel like a lot of these headlines lately are extremely gimmicky given the high volatility of bitcoin prices. These companies are just straight converting BTC back to USD which in the long run does nothing positive for true widespread ado

I've always liked the idea of a more free form excel. Excel is great to dink around with estimations but it's way overkill for the job. Something like this looks perfect for those "back of the envelope" calculations that

I understand concerns about focusing on issues that are directly pertinent to the people of a country, however historically we have never seen a culture solve all of its pressing problems and then decide to focus on science and exploration.

I think this is very cool. This could really lower the bar for entry level developers who don't want to deal with running a web server. It reminds me of github pages, but even further along.

Reminds me of what iMovie did when it shipped native on Mac. When I was younger it gave me an opportunity to play around with video editing software, and really lowered the barrier to entry. I would love for this to do something similar in

I would also add a follow up, what is your go-to for testing if an idea for a solution matches the problem?

I think this post is certainly correct in addressing CPU issues, and certain problems with Javascript. What it fails to recognize however is that the "how" of Node.js isn't the cool part about node. The cool part is the "

You can't dismiss an entire subject matter as nonscientific just because many of the major players aren't advocating scientific methods of exploration. At its root, science is about testing, observing, forming conclusions, and ret

Basically you just have a pointer: p1 -> [Object 1] And someone holds access to p1 even after you free p1, so now: p1 -> [Junk] The security flaw is when that memory is reclaimed for some use, so now: p1 -> [Object 2] And the malic

This will be even scarier when there are no alternatives left, and the only options will be physical objects that abuse personal data. I think it will take true pioneers in other fields to extend the open source movement beyond software. Wi

First off, open source work "on the side" is direct tech experience. It just so happens that you donated your work rather than being paid for it. Second you should seriously consider the cost of living, and use something like this
