I think a lot of software startups do extremely similar things with customer privacy. In fact there are probably places where the security flaws are worse than anything Soylent is doing. That is not to excuse it, more to shed light on the f

Perhaps I should clarify, I would hate to see this hurt the entire industry. If Soylent does not do a complete rethinking after what has happened I expect someone else to take their place.

It's unfortunate for Soylent to end up in such a situation given how easily it could have been prevented. For me however it does not discount the product in the least, and I would expect a rethinking of the production process to be pos

Firstly, I really love github explore. Having said that I still have yet to feel the need for one of these services that blindsides me with content just because I forgot I need it. I understand that it drives more traffic to the site, but i

I had a software internship after my freshman year of college that lead in to working remotely while at school for the next 9 months. I learned as much from that as I have from any internship, and it allowed me to optimize my time. I would

Crazy that there is a whole market for optimizing Facebook's edge rank calculations ( http://edgerankchecker.com ). Could this be the new SEO?

These are wonderful. My personal favorite is the video hub to train farmers about local agricultural practices. I look forward to seeing the kinds of non-profit startups that will come out of YC in the years to come.

This is truly excellent. A lot of articles and 'tutorials' about this topic are little more than a melting pot of buzzwords. The best way to explain test driven development is through examples, and I think this tutorial does it wo

I would be interested to see exactly where this script came from. It seems approximately correct just based on the posts I generally see in my newsfeed, but is this just someone's guess as to how Facebook could be doing things?

I only realized this truth within the past couple of months. It has absolutely transformed the way I communicate not only with groups of people but also with individuals. I think framing advice in stories based on personal experience causes

I would love to see more companies opening up technical research documents (regardless of how formal they are). As academia becomes more stagnated it makes sense for companies to open up and spread knowledge to drive their particular ecosys

I'm curious about your experience developing MMOs. Would you mind emailing me[at]lukewal[dot]sh? I am a student right now and interested in hearing from someone who knows the full landscape.

I completely agree. I think it's amazing how our perception slowly shifts over time, until things that seemed high tech turn antiquated simply because we were overexposed to a certain font.

One suggestion I would like to see is a public permissions mode where anyone I share a link with can create an account and then be able to edit the doc. Looks great, very clean UI. I have been waiting for something like this!

The nav bar that automatically collapses for mobile is an excellent addition. This is one of the main things lacking in quickly made prototypes.
