Comments become more gray and slightly less readable as they accumulate down votes. If you're using something that scrapes the site you might not be able to see it but it's visible on the main news.ycombinator.com site.

She's also 12 though. I think it's perfectly fine to have hobbies that aren't programming. I for one wasn't "in love" with programming when I was 12, I hadn't even been exposed to it. Seeing how people wor

I think a real test for drivers education would be a start. I took my test in Kansas and it involved turning left, turning right, changing a lane, and stopping at a stoplight. The entire test took less than 3 minutes.

So far the best luck I've had is googling landmarks (eiffel tower, white house, grand canyon, etc.). Will be interesting to see the compiled list of where they are all located once people start finding more of them.

The biggest thing that stuck out to me was how long some of your answers were. Everyone seems to always point to Drew's application with all of the short concise answers but it looks like thats not the only way to put together a winnin

Of all the spin offs that have been posted here this one is my favorite. Very little of the original strategy carries over, it's almost an entirely new puzzle. Very creative, well done!

Let's not turn this entire thing in to a witch hunt. It's more important to learn from the mistakes of others than for us to burn her at the stake.

Since you won't be in interviews, would you share any domain/naming ideas for our startup? I'll email you our pitch deck if you'd look at it for 30 seconds. :)

This is a good review but I think claims to be much more authoritative than it really is. This is based on a single data point and extrapolates to a wild conclusion. I'm all for quantification but the massive comparison table and asser

I really don't understand writing a program to solve this problem. Granted I play chess casually but I had a solution before I even finished reading the problem. I think it's an interesting puzzle, but I don't think that make

A variant I really like is gothic chess. It basically adds two pieces to the board. While traditional chess only has a bishop-rook piece (the queen), gothic chess adds a bishop-knight and a rook-knight. When I was younger I picked up a set

The best advice I have ever read on the subject is in Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People" (1936). 1) Become genuinely interested in other people. 2) Smile. 3) Remember that a person's name is, to th
