Not necessarily. Bill Gates didn't just start giving money away, he started spending it in a fairly controlled manner, trying to accomplish well defined goals. Maybe Bill Gates ran out of ideas how to help using computers, though.

Of course you can. But then you'd be also abandoning the workflow, and I meant dependance on that. Only relatively recently mail clients supporting a workflow similar to Gmail show up.

Because Google spins things better. Google has a nerd-friendly message, and produces things that are building dependence and are genuinely useful (like, say, gMail). So, people are less scared of it, and after some time denial kicks in. Als

No, you'd do it on a Mac Pro, or, if you want to try and save money, on a PC hidden in a closet somewhere. You'll need a PC hidden in a closet somewhere as soon as you need a cluster anyway. Same for compilation, Xcode even makes it easier

Why? There is some sort of an assumption that a romantic relationship is something desirable by default, and someone's lack of interest is somehow "sad". I agree that sometimes the reasons for staying out of the relationships business may b

It really sounds like the roles of your boss sound more like an assistant than a boss. And I don't think anyone would question the usefulness of "general politics person" and "general team sanity person". The problem is, the roles are convo

New rule: if a presenter shows a sexy, naked or scantily clad woman in a slide, and tries to justify themselves by making a self-deprecating joke, the audience is supposed to say "oh yes you are", spray them with hot sauce, and leave.
897.
by LaGrange 15y ago
So? The point is, not all jokes are appropriate. Some are offensive. Some jokes are just a lead-in to violence. Some just work to belittle people, little by little. So, yeah, the "ex-girlfriend is a bitch" joke should be ostracized.
