It would have been ironic 10 years ago, but not today. If someone only has a single Internet-capable device, it is much more likely to be smartphone, rather than a PC running Windows. Of course it wouldn't have hurt to add: "or ca

Had Q1 support for 3D acceleration on launch ? I remember playing Q1 CPU only, on a crappy PC and wasn't really blown away by it. Q2 I believe was bundled with my first graphic card, and it really made a huge difference.

Google in most cases is not the device's manufacturer, and in a mobile device OS and application SW are tightly coupled, so you cannot really have OS updates separate from firmware updates, bypassing the actual manufacturer's own

I think there are already quite a few ports of early Bioware/Black Isle RPGs (Baldur's Gate I and II, Icewind Dale) on iOS. Also the new Shadowrun games (isometric/turn based) are worth a look.

What about mobile phones, tablets, laptops ? It is a given that wired is a better option, but I cannot imagine any modern SOHO environment without a wireless router/access point.

C++/C# repositories have more or less doubled since Jan16 (from 10000ish to 20000ish) and so have Java ones (75000ish to 150000ish). So, there is not really an uptick in terms of percentage, the rise is more apparent in Java (and Javas

The best laptop I ever had was an i5 2010 Macbook Air (paid about 1000€ at the time). Reasonably fast, incredibly think and light, instant wake-from-sleep, great screen (for the time), great trackpad, decent keyboard, long battery life. Hav

Nice. These are reasoned, common sense measures, most of which I have seen in one form or another in the coding guidelines of the companies I have worked for as an embedded SW engineer. Some of them are easy to enforce (no dynamic memory al
