This is so weird. Someone self-studies a pretty challenging book on data structures and algorithms and you don't think that makes them curious and motivated to the point that you'd not feel comfortable working with them? What do y

Meh, the term recall conjures images of vehicles having to be taken back to the dealership to get repaired, replaced, or refunded. The recall announced here is just an over the air software update. It's worth pointing this out.

Ah okay, well what you said is simply untrue. It's the C++ standard that requires two's complement (S 6.8.1.3 mandates this) regardless of architecture. The reason for the negative result has nothing to do with computer architectu

The example provided has nothing to do with computer architecture or efficiency. In fact if anything it's less efficient than what most computer architectures provide natively. I'm questioning OP because I have strong doubts that

I highly doubt rustamm or anyone partaking in this discussion is remotely qualified to know whether the most successful hedge funds, including Renaissance Technologies, Citadel, or Bridgewater are successful simply due to luck.

There are good groups but they tend to be people who are already deeply involved in the field. The vast majority of what you find, including discussions about this on HN, are complete trash to be quite blunt and it's very demoralizing.
