Not unit tests, but a fair bit of in-line verification that the correct base has been added. There are numerous DNA proofreading mechanisms to prevent errors. If they didn't exist, we would be riddled with mutations.

I'll second this. Gabriel is an extremely nice guy. I approached him over 5 years ago for info about the Philly startup scene and he wrote me a huge, detailed email that I'm sure he didn't really have the time to write. I swi

I agree, especially where I live I actually have a choice between Verizon and Comcast. I have FIOS and love it. Best internet service I've ever had. So fast you can almost hear the bits as they blast out of the pipe. But my point wasn&

I know it would be painful, and the local politics certifiably insane, but if Google wanted draw attention to the dysfunctional monopoly of the cable industry, there would be no better place to wire than Philly. Take the competition right i

I first became aware of it when I was fresh out of school. I was talking to a more senior PhD researcher and we were having a conversation about other people in our department and he said something to the effect of, "Do you know Bob? I

Your tone is incredibly rude and uncalled for. Where in my post did I ask anyone to intervene? You are imputing motives that I did not state. Furthermore you are interpreting my last comment in a way that I did not mean. I meant that there

I learned a long time ago from Edward Tufte to be wary of the two axis graph, especially when different scales are used. One can manufacture just about any point using one of these and still be telling the truth.
