I thought that was a really good marketing video. They positioned the product as a way of fighting back against crime, and it was constantly funny throughout.

Nice. Another lesson in never talk to cops, and never consent to a search.

I wonder if the singularity happens like they say, and we can upload our minds into the computer, if we can send a slow probe to another star with a receiving dish and by the time it gets there, we can just beam our consciousnesses there, w

Sounds a little more lonely when you read "it's likely there are a minimum of 1,500 planets within just 50 light-years of Earth." 1,500 isn't that many, and 50 light-years is a really long distance.

While that sounds cool, such blatant non-neutrality from search engines sounds almost as scary to me as what they're protesting.

I agree about the commercials. With TiVo, I don't ever watch commercials at home any more, why would I watch them when I've paid so much money for a movie ticket? Plus I've found that I have no tolerance for them anymore.

I think it depends more on the year the house was built. Newer houses seem to be built really cheaply, while ones from 50+ years ago here are fairly solid.

I'm guessing that the reporter completely made up the "bounced around" bit to make it sound more sensational. Seems more likely to have entered the front door at an upward angle, sailed through the house and out the back and across the str

You have to pay for shipping one way or another -- whether it's explicitly, or in the form of higher prices. It's not really free.

Maybe the answer to the Fermi paradox is somehow "the singularity". As an intelligent species arises, the amount of time between the emergence of intelligence and a singularity that utterly transforms it into something we would never detec

Don't you think navies are getting a little outdated in their current form? I have to think going forward it's going to be all missiles and anti-missile missiles. Not saying that having a good missile defense won't also be expensive, but

It's amazing how it looks so digitally enhanced, but I guess it isn't. It would be cool if more sci-fi movies and space games showed planets looking like that.

Just curious, but why would you say this is a great implementation of free cell? Just because it's HTML5? It is probably the worst Free Cell I've ever seen. No automatic handling of dragging a stack onto another card, no double clicking t
