Yeah I think it's not 100% AI but my vomit senses started tingling at > The test was deliberate. > Step one, the safe ask > Step two, the unfair ask My guess "AI write a blog post about this" and then he edited it, b

It says "Provider Adapter" so presumably they put some manual work in to make this work.

I dunno if you're aware of the back story behind these UI design improvements but that's about as far from the truth as it's possible to get.

That doesn't say anything about age verification?

> In the web world async/await has already won from threads Slightly off topic but threads were never supported by the web (even now you only have message passing between workers) so it's a bit hollow to say async won.

I think it's more that the "not used to improve our models" is expensive because companies need that. It's simple price differentiation. In other words, it's not that Meta really wants your data and they're

Lol "not used to improve our models" is AI's enterprise SSO.

No thanks. I remember Mbed. Web-based IDEs are fine for hello world and blinky, but you're going to want a real one very soon, and then you'll find there isn't one because they put all their effort into the shitty web-based o

Rubbish. All vacuums are plastic and Dysons actually use quite high quality plastic. When I worked there they were always really worried about Shark, because apparently they have better pick-up benchmark scores. I bought one recently. Absol

I think it's unlikely that individuals will need their product, unless you happen to have a 100 million line monorepo. (At least based on what it sounds like they're targeting.) Normal Git/JJ is fine for most people, and mo

How much lab equipment is automatable though? There's definitely some in biology, but if you're doing fundamental research it's 99% stuff you are building yourself with your own hands. Robotics is a long way from being able

It's not really brevity - it's the constant writing tropes. It's like they ready a book on advertising copy and that's the only way they can write. Very tedious. Is Sol much better? I might have to switch to that too!

Egui doesn't do that. But it's written in Rust and only updates when you interact with it so in practice it's way more efficient than I would have expected.

I don't think models that run on single GPUs are capable of that yet sadly. You still need to spend ~$100k to get an actually good local LLM. Correct me if I'm wrong, local AI guys. It's really hard to get actually numbers on

Do we even want to? AI is in many ways amazing. We should obviously not be powering these data centres with gas, but... that's hardly unique to data centres. America voted for Trump well before AI used any power.

This has nothing to do with AI really. It's a century of pumping out CO2, not 2 years. Maybe in the future... but you can't blame AI for this year.

I agree, it's arguably clean, and definitely an improvement over Windows 98 era GUI, probably also XP era. But the world has moved on. Even KDE looks better today.

Yeah that has been around for many years. Usually by sketchy download sites. It's not really going to help though because the scrapers using residential proxies aren't burning their own compute.

I have no problem with that as long as it's not the government controlling the age verification. It should be a parent. And as a parent I want the ability to properly control my children's devices - the fact that Apple, and es
