You can just use QEMU. It has RVA23 support and is probably still faster and easier than using actual machines.

Nah wet weather is fine. The only time I've slipped off my bike in wet weather was going round a corner on a path covered in squashed leaves, which can get really slippy and really should have been cleared (which they actually did la

I live in the UK and used to commute by bike every day. I had a waterproof, waterproof trousers, waterproof overshoes, waterproof gloves... And also I once had to soak my t-shirt in water to survive the heat. (I stopped commuting before thi

I mean getting wet/hot is a pretty big disadvantage of e-bikes compared to cars in many situations. But anyway this is a crazy niche product. Don't worry it's not going to have any effect on e-bikes whatsoever.

Yeah I seriously doubt that. I used to be an HSBC customer. Awful tech.

I don't think they actually are. Platform fees are capped at £250 and their default managed fund fees is 0.14% which is pretty normal. Also I deliberately want a platform that doesn't allow trading individual shares because otherw

Well I haven't moved my number for a couple of decades at least, but the last time I did you had to phone them and go through the whole "are you sure? Let me see if I can get you a better deal" nonsense.

Monzo is great. Rare example of a consumer banking company that makes things easy. I just signed up for their phone service in literally 3 minutes. Didn't even need to talk to anyone to port my old number. I'm going to move all my

Storing config in environment variables is just such an incredibly obviously awful thing to do I can't recommend that anyone listens to this advice. Maybe some of the other things are good practice... honestly I don't remember...

This is so incredibly naive. You're basically saying no consumer laws should exist at all. Any commercial activity is fine no matter how underhanded.

No. He's wrong that every memory error is out-of-bounds access (spatial memory safety). There's also use-after-free (temporal memory safety). Arguably type confusion too but that's a grey area.

I've found that most websites and internet service max out at around 250Mbps anyway so I don't feel like there's much point paying for more. An exception is Steam, but I don't download games that often.

I agree about most of what he's said (e.g. "The London I remember" is totally inaccurate but not actually offensive), but did you see this? https://world.hey.com/dhh/three-sacred-cows-that-must-die-so...

I wonder if that will change now he's gone from edgy opinions that rile up woke people (e.g. immigration is too high in the UK) to actually advocating ethnic cleansing (not the murdery kind but still...). https://world.hey.c

Well, companies and AI are both entities that can make decisions and take actions that involve humans. Those might be empathetic or they might not. So of course you can compare their levels of empathy. I don't really understand why you
