Yeah Astra has decompiled binaries for me without even asking. I just asked like "is there a way to do this?" and it went ahead and disassembled it, found some undocumented APIs, figured out how they worked and gave me sample code

On the contrary I would love it if AI stagnates. I don't want to be out of a job. But I also don't believe things just because I want them to be true.

I seriously doubt that is any more than a theoretical problem, and even if it isn't, so what? People start a warranty claim, send the boards to RPi, they run diagnostics, detect the changed RAM and deny the claim.

I don't know if that's really fair though because it's unlikely that the people that benefited from the fire sale are still the owners. It would make more sense just enforce maintenance standards and improve renters rights. Y

That's never going to happen. By the time you can run current frontier models on your $10k desktop the frontier will have massively advanced and people will want those models instead.
