Depends upon the project. For CRUD apps, sveltekits progressive enhancement and form actions make it quick to to add simple function to the page. You can store the pocketbase instance, pb, in locals and reference it all over the application

Been using Pocketbase for almost all of my projects lately. Its realtime database is especially nice to introduce multiplayer functionality with relative ease. It plus SvelteKit has been a dream to get up and running using the JS SDK.

I'm making Snapress[0] as a way to stay connected with family & friends in my upcoming travels. It instantly prints a picture on my family and friends' printers as soon as I take it. Just need a raspberry pi or spare computer

That’s definitely tough. Learning an instrument as an adult has had its advantages that I’m learning for myself and no one else. I’ve accepted that I won’t be the next great violinist, but want to be good enough for me. I sincerely hope you

Violin for me! Been going at it for a bit more than 3 years and have just started learning one of the Bach Sonatas. It feels great to have a direct output from effort put in. The combination of physical and concentrated mental effort leaves

Kind of in a similar boat! Been learning Korean to speak more with my girlfriend’s family, especially since we’re going to Korea soon. My biggest waves of improvement have come from reading aloud the Talk to Me in Korean books. I’ve found t

I’ve been using Pocketbase[0] on my projects and I can’t recommend it enough. It is built on a SQLite db and has real-time pub/sub capabilities. Its JS SDK is incredibly easy to use and setup for CRUD as well. For side projects and som

As someone that’s actively developing a tool to help tailor resumes to job descriptions, I’ve found it to be a boon to my callbacks, if done correctly with care. Frankly, as someone that’s had a bit of a rough time getting through screens,

These are some really interesting results that I have felt empirically, but is great to put some data to. One thing this doesn’t take into account is the best practice of tailoring resumes to job descriptions. This is a time-intensive task

Violin! It was a pandemic hobby I started in 2020, but has turned into a super important aspect of my daily life. I played sax for about 12 years, but wanted to learn something completely different and that always seemed “virtuosic” in my e

Currently finding my own path and one bit of advice that I thought was incredibly helpful is from Dr. Stutz. The advice is a bit new-age-y, but I think it rings true nevertheless. It’s about working on your “life force”[0], which can be rep

It's a bit tangential to searching, but the tool I made, Resgen[0], helps tailor resumes to job descriptions. Made it for myself, but after helping others with their resumes, I built it out for others to use as well. The plan is to dev

It was/is rougher than in the past, for sure. Connecting with recruiters, sending tailored resumes, and the whole process is legitimately taxing. (As a minor plug, I made a tool that takes care of the resume tailoring for me because I

I’ve actually built Resgen[0] to help tailor resumes to job descriptions. It’s been a boon for my own job search, getting me a lot more call backs. I plan to build it out to a whole personal recruiter that sources and applies to jobs for me

One thing that is really touched upon in the article is tailoring resumes to the jobs. It’s a skill in and of itself and is something I’ve found brings a lot more success when getting call backs, in my experience. However, it’s incredibly t

My version of this problem is when there are violin scenes in movies/TV shows. It’s immediately clear when someone is not in sync with the music, has bad form, and generally just doesn’t know how to play. It just zaps me out of the sce

When I was in Colombia, the thing that jarred me the most about flying was that people waited for their turn to get out of their seats. It was a block system (e.g., rows 1-5, then 6-10, etc.) Honestly, it was refreshing compared to everyone

Good catch! It really is a combination of guidance guaranteeing JSON output and OpenAI getting it right a good majority of the time[0]. But yeah, I can see how it can be frustrating that the JSON output is not guaranteed by the docs. [0] &g
