Knew a couple people attempting to use it for an 8k self filing solution. Uploaded word docs get transformed and typeset behind the scenes then output to the SEC's version of HTML for filing.

My reaction to this was. Oh, I've seen pocket knives with thumbdrives. Wait does that say 1TB? They can fit 1TB in a tumbdrive??? How long has this been possible?

I like this a lot. I think there could be a market for something like this that allows you to play games off newgrounds if they could get the controller right. Or displays a custom news feed with video and a crawl based on selected keywords

Useful for The DebuggerStepthrough attribute! I have been thinking that such a feature must exist but hadn't gotten around to looking it up. Otherwise yeah, no real surprises. Except maybe the Generic aliases.

I think you may be right, but that is a technical aspect. I think there is a psychological aspect. Some people want an exclusive space where they are not reminded work people or relatives or high school bullies exist at all. Even if they al

Changing nature of Facebook, it was inevitable as they added millions of people. Facebook is not good for people who want thousands of passive followers and symmetric relationships with only a few. Some people will leave, or abandon their p

What a mess, original marketing firm The HAND Media claims to have dumped n-control. And Ocean Marketing is using old HAND Media email addresses at n-control domains. http://kotaku.com/5871400/cut-paul-oceanmarketting-christofo...

Oh, of course I agree you should not be profligate. And there are times you have no choice if you are hemorrhaging money. I work with middle managers who let contractors go and sit on projects months at a time in order to get cost cutting b

Yep, it is easier to increase profit by cutting costs, so that is what people will do to hit their numbers. In the long term, it is akin to burning your clothes to stay warm.

Need to support legacy files. The last (and biggest) was to import word docs into a commercial typesetting system. We need to keep the barriers for our clients as low as possible so couldn't require they give us .docx.

Sounds good if it works. Writing plugins, or automating Office through COM is an exercise in frustration right now. I've had to automate office to do some ridiculous stuff with word docs by invoking the COM objects half a dozen times now, a
