That's some really strange behavior, I don't know why that would cause poor results rather than just poor performance. Can you configure the context size with `/set parameter num_ctx N`? On my laptop with an RTX A3000 12GB I

I gave this a shot a while back and it's as clunky as it looks in the screenshots, so about the same as the established industry.

It sounds like you are trying to chat with the base model when you should be using a chat model.

It's a friendly and agreeable assistant model, if you prompt it to make certain assumptions, it makes sense that it will accept them. That's different from training the model with incorrect data.

It sounds like they'd burn out and quit, and management would rather find them a place where they can stay than lose them.

Absolutely. I used to love all the data you'd get after an ODST match. I went digging for the online stats a while back and came up empty-handed... sad to see it all seems to be gone now.

You can also wait a bit for someone to upload quantized variants, finetunes, etc, and download those. FWIW I'm not making a claim about the legality of that, just saying it's an easy way around needing to sign the agreement.

Finding big low resolution displays is a pain. Pixel density has increased a lot, so larger displays are high resolution, which means you need a much faster device to drive them, and at that point it starts to feel a little silly because yo

Same here. My eBay watchlist always has a few in it, but the prices just aren't where I need them to be. For now I am focused on inference with a dual 3090 rig, and my next step will be to fit another pair of 3090s, which is the max I

Yes, four slot DDR5 is going to be much slower than two slot DDR5 due to signal integrity difficulties. Look at a DDR5 motherboard’s qualified memory configurations and compare the x2 setups to x4 and you will see the huge difference in clo

Our VAR was Trimech for many years, then we tried a few others that were worse, and finally we came back to Trimech. We've always lagged a year behind the current SW release to try to avoid getting hit by the latest and greatest bugs.

IIRC the Suzuki Sidekick manual has a bunch of inaccurate torque specifications, on the very high side. I was lucky to learn about that before I did any work.

Yeah… I’ve heard a lot of stories about shipyard dysfunction from friends and relatives, but it’s nothing so exciting. It’s mostly poor planning that results in expensive waste and slowdowns.

You can buy a cheap Mac and easily write programs for it. You don't have to spend $40k on a computer, you don't have to buy a support contract, you don't have to buy developer tools.
